Michael McDonald is an American singer and songwriter, with 5 Grammy's to his name. He initially rose to prominence with Steely Dan, providing back-up vocals for 1975's "Katy Lied". Initially recruited by The Doobie Brothers in April 1975 as a short-term replacement when lead singer Tom Johnston became ill, his time with the band was so successful that he was retained as a full time member. Michael McDonald subsequently became extremely successful as a solo artist, and has released albums, and toured to sell out audiences the world over, ever since.
