Ted Nugent (born December 13th 1948) is an American rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. Originally finding fame in the Amboys in the late 60s, Ted Nugent gradually became the driving force behind the band; first changing the name to "Ted Nugent and the Amboys", and then, in the mid 70s, striking out on his own. He assembled a first-rate backing band that included second guitarist/vocalist Derek St. Holmes, bassist Rob Grange, and drummer Cliff Davies, and the band immediately struck a chord with the heavy metal/hard rock crowd from coast to coast. Known for his over the top stage shows and larger than life persona, Ted has increasingly got involved with politics, and has become a US institution in the process.
