One of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the 1960s, the Doors were formed in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They released 6 albums in the 8 years of their existence with classic tracks such as 'Light My Fire', 'LA Woman', 'Break On Through (To the Other Side)' and the 'The End'. The charismatic Jim Morrison was a mercurial live performer and performances were interrupted by rioting and brushes with the law. In 1971, Morrison died in Paris, apparently of a drugs overdose. The band still enjoy a huge cult following and their influence on rock music is unquestioned while the Jim Morrison legend is as great as ever.
