Rick Wakeman (born May 18th, 1949) is an English keyboard player, composer, and songwriter. He is most famous for his work with legendary progressive rock group Yes, but has also achieved success with the band Strawbs and as a solo artist. Rick Wakeman is known for his incredible keyboard skills, and is one of the foremost synth players in the world. He first joined Yes in 1971, and since then has "been in and out of Yes more times than Barbera Cartland has put pen to paper." During his time with Yes, he released his first solo album "The Six Wives of Henry VIII", which he performed in its entirety for the first ever time in May 2009. A recording of this show was released by Eagle Rock. He has also released two further concept albums "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" (1974), and "The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table".
