In 1965 at the age of just seventeen, Cher shot to fame as one half of pop duo Sonny & Cher with the song 'I Got You Babe'. In the 70s she became a TV star with the Sonny and Cher comedy Hour. She followed this in the 80s as a movie star with acclaimed roles in films such as 'The Witches of Eastwick' and 'Moonstruck' for which she won an Academy Award. Throughout she remained a successful performer with a career lasting over 40 years and more than 100 million albums sold. Her farewell tour ended in 2005 but she made a comeback in 2008 to perform in Las Vegas. She remains one of the most successful female solo artists of all time.
