Featuring the Mk II lineup of Deep Purple (Ian Gillan / Ritchie Blackmore / Roger Glover / Jon Lord / Ian Paice), these 2 concerts recorded for the BBC. The first one, recorded in 1970, was in support of “In Rock”. Despite being only 4 songs, the set clocks in at over 50 minutes, featuring 2 songs from the A-side of that album, “Speed King” and “Child In Time”, along with 2 vintage Purple cuts, “Wring That Neck” and “Mandrake Root”. Disc 2 was recorded in 1972 in support of the classic “Machinehead” album. This recording features performances of 6 of the 7 tracks off the album (only “Pictures Of Home” was not played), including a nearly 21-minute run through of “Space Truckin’”.
