The Boomtown Rats were founded in Ireland in 1975. This show was filmed at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in the summer of 1978. It includes the hit singles Looking After No.1, She’s So Modern, Like Clockwork and Rat Trap, which later that year would become the first New Wave No.1 hit, along with other Rats favorites such as I Never Loved Eva Braun and Joey’s On The Streets Again. Also included is the audience participation number Do The Rat, which was a popular feature of early Rats gigs. The film and sound have been restored under the supervision of Bob Geldof and Pete Briquette to give the best possible DVD whilst retaining the rough and ready feel and the raw excitement of early Rats gigs.As a bonus feature there are three audio only tracks from the same show which have been remixed into 5.1 Surround Sound but for which sadly there is no visual footage available: Neon Heart, Living On An Island and the hit single Mary Of The Fourth Form.
